When the post-purchase page won’t appear
Last updated Jul 22, 2026
If a post-purchase offer didn't appear on a test order, this is almost always expected: Shopify — not UpsellEngine — decides when the post-purchase page can appear. No app can override this.
When Shopify skips the post-purchase page
The page is not shown for:
- Wallet and pay-later methods — Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, Shop Pay Installments, Klarna, Afterpay, Affirm, and PayPal.
- Gift cards or other non-credit-card payments.
- Orders with no shipping address — digital-only, pickup, or local delivery.
- Multi-currency orders that include duties.
- Order totals under $0.50.
- Orders created outside the Online Store channel.
Also worth knowing
- Shopify allows one post-purchase app per store — make sure UpsellEngine is selected in Settings → Checkout (Enable checkout & post-purchase surfaces).
- A checkout can show up to three offers.
- When the page is supported, accepting the offer is truly one click, charged to the vaulted card with no re-entry.
Note: Because the post-purchase page is skipped for a share of orders, pair it with a thank-you page offer, which appears on the confirmation page every order reaches.
