Creating an offer

Last updated Jul 22, 2026

An offer in UpsellEngine is defined by five choices: placement → type → trigger → products → design.

The five steps

  1. Placement — where the offer appears: product page (Bought Together, Add-ons), cart drawer, cart page, popup, checkout, post-purchase, or thank-you page.
  2. Type — the offer format for that placement (for example, a single recommendation, a checkbox add-on, or a one-click post-purchase offer).
  3. Trigger — which products or conditions the offer applies to. See Triggers & priority rules.
  4. Products — let the AI recommend, or hand-pick the products to show. See How AI pairing works.
  5. Design — apply a template and adjust colors and copy. See Countdown timers, translations & design.

Create one

  1. In the UpsellEngine dashboard, open Offers → Create.
  2. Work through placement, type, trigger, products, and design.
  3. Optionally add a discount (Discounts) or a countdown timer.
  4. Publish.

Note: For the placement to render on your storefront, its surface must be enabled first — see Getting started. You can also test variations of an offer with A/B testing.
