Billing & pricing FAQ
Do you take a percentage of my sales?
No — never, on any plan. Every UpsellEngine plan is a flat monthly fee. Competitors often charge a success fee or usage tiers that grow with your upsell revenue or order volume; UpsellEngine does not. The upsell revenue you earn is entirely yours.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. All paid plans — Starter, Growth, and Scale — include a 14-day free trial. The Free plan is free forever, with no trial needed and no card required.
How does billing work, and where does it appear?
Billing runs through Shopify. Your UpsellEngine charge appears on your regular Shopify invoice alongside your other Shopify app charges — there is no separate card, no third-party billing, and no Stripe.
What happens when I reach my plan’s monthly order limit?
Each plan includes a monthly order allowance — 50, 500, 2,000, or unlimited. As you approach your limit, UpsellEngine lets you know so you can decide whether to move up to the next tier. You are only ever billed your chosen plan price; nothing is charged as a surprise.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There are no contracts. You can cancel or change plans at any time from Shopify, and billing stops at the end of your current period.
What is the “Powered by” badge on the Free plan?
The Free plan shows a small “Powered by UpsellEngine” badge on your offer widgets. Every paid plan — Starter and above — removes it.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
Only checkout upsells require Shopify Plus, because Shopify reserves checkout customization for Plus stores; they are included on the Scale plan. Every other placement — product page, cart, popups, post-purchase, and thank-you — works on any Shopify plan.
